2 Weeks Itinerary for Vietnam-Cambodia-Thailand

You have 2 weeks and you want to travel Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand then here is a 2 weeks itinerary with some additional recommendations that will give you a fair bit of ideas to plan your trip and you trip can get really exciting in all these countries which have their own history, art, culture and places of natural beauty to allure you.

Vietnam

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam – also known as ‘Saigon’

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels – Half Day Tour

Day 2: Evening Street Shopping – Ben Thanh Market and around

Day 3: Mekong Delta Full Day Tour

In case you have extra days out side of 2 weeks, you can also visit Danang, Hoi An, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa.
Vietnam country itself a perfect 2 weeks of trip if you want to cover all of Vietnam.

VISA:
You can apply for Vietnam Visa on this official site : https://vietnamvisa.govt.vn/
You will get a visa approval letter in next 2-3 days after you apply on this portal. And you have to carry a hard copy of this visa approval letter and show it on the airports of Vietnam for visa on arrival or called ‘Landing Visa” counter where you need to pay a cash of $25 .So please carry at least 25 USD with you for this.
Currency:

Both US Dollar and Vietnamese Dong (VND) are acceptable here. Change amount is mostly given in Vietnamese Dong.If you are going to remote places in Vietnam, its good to have more VND.
Accommodation:
Based on your spending capacity, you can choose from a budget hostel/hotel to the high end hotels.

Transportation:
You can use Tuk Tuk as a best mode of transport around the city. Grab app is quite useful to book a cab or byk online in most of south east asian countries including Vietnam. For travelling to different tourist spots,its better to book a van, also called Limousine

Cambodia

Day 5: Road Trip from Ho-Chi-Minh City to Phnom Penh, Capital City of Cambodia and Sunset Boat Cruise at Phnom Penh


Day 6: S-21 Prison -Tuel Sleng Genocide Museum Tour and Killing Fields – Cheung Ek Genocidal Center Tour

Day 7: Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda and Wat Phnom Visit

Day 8: Road Trip from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and Visit a cultural show in evening at Siem Reap

Day 9 : Angkor Wat Tour – Full Day

Day 10: Fly from Siem Reap to Phuket in the morning- Thailand

If you have more number of days left, you can go to the floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake, Battambang, Sihanoukville.

Floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake: This lake is a UNESCO designated biosphere. The flow of water in Tonle Sap changes twice during a year. Take a boat ride during day time or Sunset dinner cruise which will include Chong Khneas floating village of stilted house visit, crocodile and fish farm visit, meal at traditional Khmer floating restaurant.

Battambang: In Battambang, you can go for :

– Bamboo Train
– Killing Caves
– Bat Caves
– Wat Banan

Sihanoukville: This is a place for beaches and parties. Last 2-3 days of your trip you must plan to be here to party and relax on beaches. There are some beaches which are quite crowded and some secluded, so choose the beaches accordingly.

VISA:

You can apply Cambodia VISA online in the official site : https://www.evisa.gov.kh/
It will ask for 36 USD and after payment the VISA will be mailed to you in next 1-2 working days which you need to carry and show it in the entry points in Cambodia where such VISA verification facilities are there. Make sure you enter in to Cambodia at the entry points having VISA verification facilities. Visa on arrival is also available in Cambodia at 30 USD

Currency:

US Dollar and Cambodian Riel are both accepted here. You will get change in Cambodian Riel only.
Carry some hard cash in both USD and Cambodian Riel if you are travelling from airport to your hotel for paying to the CAB drivers

Day 10: Check in to a hotel/Hostel  in Phuket and in the evening spend time at Patong Beach or take a cab/tuk tuk to the Phrom Thep Cape to view the Sunset


Day 11: Phi Phi Island Full day Tour


Day 12 : James Bond Island Full day Tour


Day 13 : City Hopping Tour to Big Buddha, Old City, Cashew Nut and Honey Bee Factories etc


Day 14 : Reserve Day – this day can be any day in between for rest or any other planning delays/gaps


Day 15: Take morning flight from Phuket to Bangkok and travel to Wat Arun and Wat Pho


Day 15 : Evening flight from Bangkok to Back to your Home Country

In case you have more number of days to spend, you can also do Krabi, Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai, Chian Rai, Autthaya, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Koh Pha Nga, Kho Tao, Sukhothai

VISA:

Visa on arrival (VOA)  facility of Thailand is free for a number of countries till October 2019. Please check on its official Ministry Of External Affairs website for more details while making fresh VISA application

Currency:

Although US Dollar currency is acceptable here in airports and some popular marts and hotels, you must carry Thai Baht (TBH) as USD is not accepted in most of the places.
