Road Trip from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to Phnom Penh , Capital of Cambodia
HCMC to Phnom Penh, the Capital of Royal Kingdom of Cambodia is at a distance of 230km and can be reached by 3 ways:
- Water ways – Ferry – not recommended because of high cost, waste of time and not so scenic route
- Air Ways – Flights – Cost around 165 USD for one way trip from HCMC (SGN) to Phnom Penh (PNH) and takes around 50 minutes
- Road Ways – Bus (Mekong Express, Giant Ibis) takes around 16 USD and 6 hours. There is also van service provided by some of these bus operators. Those van cost 2-3$ more than the bus tickets and have less space but if you want privacy with a family of 5-7 persons then it can be availed.
We took the Giant Ibis bus at 16 USD and there was a stop at Boarder Bevet for Cambodia Visa processing. The bus conductor took 2$ for visa formalities and processed all our visas. At other side of Cambodia, we stopped for having lunch.
